Dr. John Suson earned a an honors degree in chemistry from Marquette University in 1988. He earned a medical degree in research from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1992. Dr. Suson served an internship at St. Luke’s Medical Center (1992-93) in Milwaukee and completed specialty training in ophthalmology (1993-96) at the Eye Institute in Milwaukee, serving as chief resident. Dr. Suson holds a clinical instructor appointment at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he participates in the surgical instruction of resident eye specialists. Dr. Suson has maintained a commitment to the continued development of surgical skill and knowledge. He was among the first eye specialists in Wisconsin to perform LASIK procedures and has extensive skill in advanced cataract surgery. Dr. Suson has been board certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1998, with recertification in 2008. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the State Medical Society of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Ophthalmologic Society.
Dr. Judy Suson-Hoggatt is a member of the clinical teaching staff at the Medical College of Wisconsin and has taught surgery to resident eye specialists at the Eye Institute and Veterans Administration Medical Center in Milwaukee. Dr. Suson-Hoggatt earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Wisconsin and completed a research fellowship in ocular pathology at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she also served an internship. Dr. Suson-Hoggatt completed her residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In 1995, she joined her father, Dr. Eleiser B. Suson, at Suson Eye Specialists. She has been board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1997 and was recertified in 2009. Dr. Suson-Hoggatt is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the State Medical Society of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Ophthalmologic Society. Her focus as an eye specialist is refractive surgery, cataracts, and the treatment of glaucoma and diabetic eye disease.
